Founded by a passionate collective of scientists, engineers, and dreamers, we’re on a mission to protect human health beyond Earth. Our flagship project, HIRO-LAB tackling global challenge: how radiation affects essential medicines and healthcare technology in extreme environments.

In these environments, failure is no longer an inconvenience or a cost overrun—it is a direct risk to human health, safety, and survival.

Most pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and materials are designed and certified for benign, terrestrial conditions. Even when stress testing is performed, it is often fragmented, component-focused, or disconnected from real-world operational contexts. Extreme environments are treated as edge cases.

Founder & CTO

As Co-Founder and CTO, Gordon ties knowledge and passion of all things space and medicine together into a bold vision for the future of human spaceflight. From experience in the technical side of the space industry, to the fringes of space medical research, Gordon aims to propel Australia to the forefront of the global Newspace medicine sector. With a background in Psychology and Neuroscience, combined with the diverse expertise of the Astraea crew, we aim to revolutionise and advance solutions to the medical challenges of spaceflight and extra-orbital travel.

Mills

Co-Founder and CEO

Brooke brings passion and experience to the team as its CEO. She has 20+ years of working in start-ups and small businesses and a lifetime of love for all things space. Brooke is a seasoned Project Manager and was a part of the establishment leadership team for Quantum Australia, a DISR-funded growth centre dedicated to Australia's quantum industry.
